Sandra Aguila
Sandra is originally from El Salvador and came to Seattle 39 years ago as a refugee from the civil war. She retired from public school teaching in 2023 after 30 years of service. Sandra is a proud mother of two daughters and grandmother of five.
In the 1990s, she helped found the Immigration Reform and Social Justice Committee and has served on the boards of Casa Latina and the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project. She was also an Executive Board representative for seven years with the Highline Education Association (HEA).
Sandra is deeply committed to racial, social, and gender equality, economic justice, and human rights. Through her work with Colectiva Legal del Pueblo, she aims to continue learning and contributing to her community.
